On Friday, Feb. 21, former Houston County High School standout Elijah Smith’s current college team, the Western Carolina Catamounts, won 8-7 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Maryland Terrapins.

The game took place at Ronnie G. Childress Field at Hennon Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Terrapins this season.

The Catamounts’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. at Ronnie G. Childress Field at Hennon Stadium against Maryland Terrapins.
