U.S. Representative Austin Scott from Georgia’s 8th district has announced his support for H.R. 1968, the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act. This measure aims to prevent a government shutdown.

Rep. Scott emphasized the importance of keeping the government operational and highlighted the need to commence the appropriations process promptly for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins on October 1st. “I supported the continuing resolution to keep our government open today,” he stated. He further noted, “Our fiscal year starts October 1st, and we need to immediately start the appropriations process for the next fiscal year so we don’t end up in this situation again.”

The statement was released following his vote in favor of the legislation.
