Houston County School District Announces New Student Orientations and Meet & Greet Opportunities
The first day of school for Houston County students will be Tuesday, August 3. School operating hours for 2021-2022 will be:
• Elementary School: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Middle School: 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• High School: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
To help prepare students and their families for the school year, Houston County schools have scheduled Meet and Greet events and New Student Orientations. Meet and Greet events give elementary and middle school families an opportunity to meet the teachers and see their classroom. High schools have also scheduled orientations for freshmen and any other new students.
To reduce the number of people in the building at one time, some schools have created a staggered schedule for parents. Parents should visit their child’s school website for more information.
