The City of Perry will host the Houston County Youth Bike Rodeo at Creekwood Park on Saturday, May 14, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
Kids ages 5-12 will learn about bike safety and the rules of the road at the Traffic Park.
Participants will get the opportunity to rotate among 7 different stations in order to learn in-depth procedures regarding bike safety. At the Traffic Park, participants will learn rules of the road as they engage with other bikers, stop signs, turns, and more.
“We hope this event is both fun and informative. As we grow closer to the summer, bike safety becomes more important,” says Leisure Services Director, Sedrick Swan.
The event is in partnership with local nonprofit, Developing Potential, and local Biking Club, My Biking Affair. The groups will manage the bike safety stations.
Participants are required to bring their bikes and helmets. A parent/guardian must be present. The first 50 kids to sign up will receive a free helmet and t-shirt.
Creekwood Park is located at 1107 Creekwood Drive in Perry.
