WASHINGTON, D.C.-- U.S. Representative Austin Scott (GA-08) responded to President Joe Biden's State of the Union Address in a critical manner. Scott expressed his concerns over President Biden's policy decisions and their impact on national security.
“President Biden has consistently made disastrous policy decisions that have put our national and global security at risk. He is directly responsible for the crisis at our southern border,” Scott said.
During the State of the Union Address, President Biden announced plans involving the military that drew strong reactions from Scott. “Tonight, he announced that he is asking our military to build a port in Gaza, which means sending U.S. soldiers to a territory that is controlled by Iranian proxies. He has chosen not to listen to our military leaders for his entire Presidency, and he failed to take accountability for his actions during tonight’s State of the Union address.”
Scott, who serves as Vice Chair of the House Agriculture Committee for the 118th Congress, is also a Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) and the House Armed Services Committee (HASC).
