WASHINGTON, D.C.-- U.S. Representative Austin Scott (GA-08), a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee (HASC), released a statement following the passage of H.R. 8070, the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2025. The NDAA passed the U.S. House of Representatives with a vote of 217-199.

"Georgia is home to nine major military installations, including Moody and Robins AFB," Scott said. "The NDAA puts our servicemembers and their families first and advances important policies to support our warfighters at home and abroad and deter our adversaries."

Rep. Scott managed the rule for the NDAA on behalf of the House Rules Committee.

Throughout the process of crafting the FY25 NDAA, Scott had 41 bill and direct report language amendments included at his request in the bill and accompanying report. Among these were:

- An amendment requiring the Air Force to operate no less than three Air Logistics Complexes by amending the composition of the U.S. Air Force under Title 10 of the U.S. Code.

- An amendment requiring the Secretary of Defense to establish a common coalition key within the Baltic states for purposes of sharing ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS).
