A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Houston County Election Department on October 29, 2024. The request, issued by Warner Robins Today, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, sought detailed information about the methods used for counting votes in the upcoming elections.
The specific details requested included whether the vote count would be conducted manually or using automated systems. If manual counting was to be employed, Warner Robins Today also requested an estimate of the number of personnel who would be working on election night.

Given our role as a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have requested a fee waiver for this information under the Georgia Open Records Act § 50.18.70 et seq.
