U.S. Representative Austin Scott of Georgia's 8th District has expressed his support for Mike Johnson, representing Louisiana's 4th District, as the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

In a statement released on January 3, 2025, Scott remarked, "Mike Johnson is a good man, a good friend, and the best person to lead the House. I proudly supported him for Speaker today, and I have full faith in his leadership this Congress."

Johnson's nomination received backing from Scott as part of the process to elect new leadership within the House.
