U.S. Representative Austin Scott has announced the commencement of submissions for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. High school students from grades 9 to 12 residing or attending school in Georgia's Eighth Congressional District are invited to participate.

The competition offers a unique opportunity for young artists, as the winning artwork will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year, alongside other artworks from congressional districts nationwide. The submission guidelines specify that entries must be original in concept, design, and execution, with dimensions not exceeding 26” x 26” x 4”. Acceptable forms include paintings, drawings, collages (two-dimensional), prints, mixed media, computer-generated art, and photography. All submitted pieces must be framed unless they are on canvas; canvases require hooks for hanging.

An exhibit and awards ceremony showcasing all district entries will take place at the Syd Blackmarr Art Center in Tifton, Georgia on May 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Students interested in participating must submit their framed artwork by April 18th at designated drop-off locations: Rep. Scott’s District Office in Warner Robins or Tifton.

Further details about the competition can be accessed online. For inquiries or additional information, Charles White is available at Rep. Scott's Tifton District Office via phone or email.
